Creating For Digital Spaces

I have been practicing graphic design for more than ten years now. It started when I was creating basic browser games in elementary school, realizing that I had to make all the content myself. This forced me to learn basic raster image editing and processing in GIMP, and moving into SVG graphics with Inkscape. Using these free alternatives, I learned the foundations for both vector and raster graphic design, eventually moving my workflow entirely into the Adobe Suite, with applications such as PhotoShop and Illustrator.

From there, I learned how to use more powerful tools to sharpen my skills, such as utilizing PSD mockups to display designs on physical products. While I attended Champlain College, I took multiple digital art and content related classes. See some of my graphic design projects below.

58 Porch T-Shirt

This was a simple project I did for a group of friends. They gave me a hand drawn design, and from there I digitized the artwork. I did this by originally scanning the raster image to a SVG path, and then hand correcting the nodes in the path to create a complete image. From there I created multiple product mockups to see how the graphic would look on a physical item.

This project was a great exercise to practice product design. Taking a "client" provided artwork, editing and preparing it as well as applying it to a product mockup.

Bizmuth Branding & Design

Bizmuth was a semester long project on web design, branding and UI / UX design. Part of the project was to create digital assets and branding around a fictional company I created.

The company is a cryptocurrency debit card provider, and as such needed to display a clean sleek modern look, while also being friendly to new users. This project took inspiration from services such as Venmo and Cashapp. The logo and branding went through a lot of changes until I found something that seemed professional and welcoming.

Weapon Game Sprites

My first two years at Champlain College I actually spent in the Game Programming major before switching concentrations. During this I was working on a personal game project. It was a 2D looter shooter, and as such I needed a lot of weapon game sprites. Because of this, I made 45 individual weapon sprites all in vector SVG format. Once I moved away from the major to focus on digital design, the project stopped production. However, here are all the weapon assets I made including their variants.

All sprites are made entirely by me, by hand.

Album Art

A major hobby of mine right now is music production and songwriting. I am exceptionally proud that I have a full EP and a single released on Spotify, Apple Music and many other streaming platforms.

This opened up an avenue for me to explore a new form of graphic design in album art. I love the process of creating art that is meant to compliment music. Here you can see a few of my album artwork pieces, as well as album art for an upcoming project...

Bluepine Branding

This project is currently work in progress, and as such I don't have a lot to show for it.

Bluepine is my personal freelance business I plan to launch soon. While I have worked in freelance before, and currently, this is my first attempt at branding my business to seem more professional.

Hopefully there is more to show soon!
